LEGAL & TRUST

Privacy Policy

This policy explains the information PrepTally uses to provide study planning, assessment, marking and administration services.

Effective 21 July 2026

1. Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to visitors, students, instructors and administrators who use PrepTally. During the private pilot, access may be limited and manually approved.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information: name, email address, qualification, role, membership status and approval history.
  • Learning information: study plans, exam dates, topic progress, MCQ results, written answers, calculation workings, self-marks, instructor marks and feedback.
  • Content and administration information: uploaded academic structures, questions, model answers, examiner comments, import records and audit events.
  • Support information: contact messages and information you provide when requesting access.
  • Technical information: security, error and access records needed to operate and protect the service.

3. How we use information

We use information to provide your dashboard, calculate progress, save attempts, enable instructor reviews, manage approved access, improve the service, respond to support requests and protect PrepTally from misuse.

4. Model solutions and academic content

Protected model solutions are released only under the relevant learning rules, such as after a student submits an attempt. Access restrictions are enforced by the application and may be logged for security and quality purposes.

5. Sharing and service providers

We do not sell personal information. Information may be processed by hosting, authentication, storage, communications and security providers used to operate PrepTally. Instructors receive only the student attempts assigned to them. Administrators may access information necessary to manage the platform.

6. Retention

We retain account and learning records while an account is active and as reasonably required for educational history, security, dispute resolution and legal obligations. Removed accounts may be archived rather than immediately erased where historical attempts or audit records must remain consistent.

7. Security

PrepTally uses role checks, approval controls, server-side validation, protected solution release and audit records. No online system can guarantee absolute security, so users should keep login credentials secure and report suspicious access promptly.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information. Some records may need to be retained for security, academic integrity or legal reasons. You may also ask to close or suspend your account.

9. Children

PrepTally is designed for professional accounting education and is not directed to children under 16. A user who is below the applicable age of digital consent should use the service only with appropriate guardian authorization.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service, hosting or legal requirements change. Material updates will be dated on this page. For privacy questions or requests, use the Contact page and select the relevant reason.
